About me

My name is Beáta Szablics. I am a cruise and travel industry professional, global destinations expert. My roots take me back to Hungary and I found home in Switzerland.

Warm Greetings, I am glad to meet you!

Travel indeed has been a tool for me from the moment I declared to a friend at the age of 9, that I would be travelling around the world telling stories…

It has been an incredible journey of two decades, that continues every day, and one that I will be forever grateful for!

The admiration of the diversity of cultures across continents, some of the greatest buildings in ancient and modern history, extraordinary natural wonders or the magnificent creatures in their natural habitats have thought me appreciation, opened my eyes to details, encouraged me to be curious about real facts, motivated me to be engaged, made me want to know more about local matters and thought me to be open to care, learn and share lifetime long.

Nonetheless, the more I travelled on job assigments and private trips, the better I realized that most travellers only scratch the surface, they only pass by and their travel habits might be destructive instead of being worthwile… There is too much of everything and yet there is so little meaningful impact.

While working in different segments of the industry I became more aware of the need for change in the way we travel and the way we, as tourism professionals create, offer and deliver a product.

Since I have worked around the world with cruise lines, destination management companies and tour operators, I have built expertise in product development, cruise management, leisure travel management, tour operations and tour guiding. Therefore my professional experiences cover all aspects from research and development through marketing to daily implementation, both for cruise and land-based products. I also had the opportunity to train and lead travel industry teams and work with talented tourism professionals from every corner of the world. Besides designing and delivering unique market first products, privileged access tours, around-the-world trips, I also work with various ideas where education and community engagement is in focus. I find outstandingly exciting to work with remote communities or less known destinations to establish co-operation or enhance existing programs to their higher level of success.

Since 2017 I dedicated my time to Viking Cruises, where as a senior product development manager I established and refined their excursion program for Alaska, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, South Pacific, Africa, Middle East and also worked on projects for the Caribbean, Central and South America, Mediterranean, Northern Europe and the Baltic regions.

As education is part of my journey, I find also my continuous self-development important. This includes Global Sustainable Tourism Council Training, UNITAR and destination specialist trainings to mention a few that adds to my professional tour management and tour guide qualifications.

My adventures and all the lessons I have learnt along the way have inspired me to use my experiences and knowledge as a tool to make a difference, to dedicate my profession to the educational power of travel, and to guide to create and explore better.

I truly believe that travel is a tool to bring the world closer together, to change the way we live, discover and give back. Through shared knowledge we can do just that. Therefore I hope with my expertise I can help you develop your business, design and customize your conscious, unique travel product and services.
